  Cable Company Destroys Phone Company Entrance Facility

While sitting over the kitchen table with a prospective customer this evening, I was taken aback when the lady before me said that Time Warner Cable in Canton, Ohio cut the phone lines that once fed traditional telephone service into her home. Currently she has Voice over IP (VoIP).

It says a lot when cable service employees cut telephone lines and deface phone equipment in order to prevent a client from going back to POTS.  (click here)

The International Code Council (ICC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) today announce the launch of the International Green Construction Code (IGCC), representing the merger of two national efforts to develop adoptable and enforceable green building codes.  The IGCC provides the building industry with language that both broadens and strengthens building codes in a way that will accelerate the construction of high performance green buildings across the U.S.

  ISC West ESA Young Security Professionals Ramp Up for Vegas

YSP West special events attract members from across the country

Irving, Texas, March 11, 2010 - YSP West is the moniker for the Electronic Security Association (ESA) Young Security Professional’s (YSP) action-packed events scheduled for March 24 – 25, 2010. Excited participants anticipate a full-fledged Las Vegas experience combining education and networking when they arrive at this year’s ISC West.

To break the ice, YSPs will gather at the infamous Rockhouse Bar for a networking social on March 24. Providing an opportunity to connect with their industry peers, the casual and fun Rockhouse environment should help YSPs build relationships that will benefit them personally and professionally. This event will also provide an opportunity for the YSPs to meet some of the industry’s more “seasoned” individuals such as ESA President, Mike Miller, and other members of the Executive Committee.
