Plustek Announces Full Line of Scanners
High-speed, reliable and affordable scanners are ideal for every kind of finance management
CERRITOS,
Calif. (March 10, 2010) – Plustek Technology Inc.
(www.plustek.com/usa), a manufacturer of consumer, prosumer,
professional and office imaging devices (including portable scanners,
sheet fed/flatbed scanners, wide format scanners and IP cameras), is
pleased to offer a complete line of scanner solutions to fulfill nearly
every financial need. Organizations can improve compliance and
efficiency through document management with a full range of Plustek
scanners.
Most financial organizations rely heavily on
paper-based information from tax returns, loan applications,
appraisals, correspondence and remote deposit paperwork. These
paper-based processes and workflow are often difficult to manage and
costly to control. By using Plustek’s document management scanners,
companies can streamline this data, make it digitally achievable,
leverage the data across other company databases or software and bring
efficiency and order to an otherwise unmanageable system.

Wire and Tube 2010 on Successful Course
Düsseldorf, Germany -- In less than two months, wire 2010 –
International Wire and Cable Trade Fair and Tube 2010 – International
Tube and Pipe Trade Fair, will be held at the fairgrounds in
Düsseldorf, Germany (April 12-16, 2010). The exhibitor participation at
both events indicates that the industry is optimistic about the future:
with 1,037 exhibitors from 47 countries on a net area of 463,800 square
feet,
Tube 2010 is sold out in terms of space. The event will occupy all
available space in Halls 1 to 7.0. - almost 21,500 square feet more
than at the Tube 2008 staging. The wire 2010 exhibitors will present
their products on 553,630 square feet of net exhibit space in Halls 9
to 12 and 15 to 17. This represents a decrease of about 23,600 square
feet due to booth size reduction by several companies. However, with
1,135 companies from 49 nations, the number of exhibitors at wire 2010
has already exceeded the final results of wire 2008. The participation
of an aluminum manufacturer from Mexico will be a highlight. In
addition, companies from Egypt, Estonia, Columbia and the United Arab
Emirates will take part in the wire trade fair for the first time.

MARKS USA hospital push/pull PD Series locksets provide hands-free opening for sanitary safety
Marks USA PD Series Hospital Push/Pull Mortise and Cylindrical style
locksets designed for use in healthcare facilities satisfies the
universal demand for hospital hardware. The locksets design innovation,
with an improved short retraction angle, is particularly beneficial
when a simple push or pull on the paddle using your elbow or forearm
will open the door. This feature is mandatory for any door where
unhygienic conditions may be prevalent such as restrooms or cafeterias,
thus aiding in the prevention of contamination from unsanitary hands.

Heavy Snow Brought Downed Power Lines, Injuries, and Deaths
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (March 7, 2010) -- Here in western Pennsylvania heavy, wet snows--as much as 36 inches deep in some places--have brought down trees and electrical wires, This adverse weather brought with it the question “Who is it that owns this power line?”
Typically, during storms the fire department will respond and clear the trees and the wires if they are cable TV or telephone as these are considered safe to move, at least most of the time. The local utility is then notified so they can do a follow-up repair. This can often bring with it trouble when the cable or Telco provider arrives.

The Planned Demise of POTS
EAST CANTON, Ohio (March 07, 2010) -- For those who haven't heard, the current administration and AT&T, by way of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of Washington, D.C., is planning to eliminate Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS). In it's place will be a single method of wired communication using an all-IP (Internet Protocol) solution.
As in any debate, there are two sides to the issue at hand. On the one
hand, this administration would like to make IP broadband communication
available to everyone in the United States. On the other, AT&T
probably recognizes that there's a higher profit potential associated
with IP communication, such as Voice Over IP (VoIP).
