Those who believe themselves above moral disciplines have embarked on a course to deny the truth of Jesus Christ by banning him from public life. Why?
-- Donald E. Clem
He was hung on a cross by the hate mongers of that day. He was laid in a
tomb with a big boulder at the opening to keep his remains from being
stolen by his friends. He not only escaped, he now lives in heaven, seated
at the right hand of God, his father and ours. And now certain segments of
humanity are so afraid of him they are trying to banish all mention, if
not thought of him, from public life. Those of us who believe in him are
branded as bigots, intolerant, and purveyors of hate. Believers are denied
rights that those who don’t believe in him are able to exercise. Those who
issue the edicts and deny the rights are the same ones accusing believers
of intolerance.
To hear the non-believers, the reasons offered for denying believers their
rights guaranteed by the Constitution are many and complex, too difficult
to understand according to the dissenters. But are they really all that
hard to understand? When their spouting is examined the answer is no, they
aren’t hard to understand at all. It goes back to the basic premise of who
is in control, man or God.
Ungodly judges, those elected to public office,
appointees, and the generally ignorant, declare that to allow mention of
God in any public forum is a violation of the constitutionally mandated
separation of church and a state. The challenge is for them to show where
that statement is written in the Constitution; but I am ahead of the
thoughts to be presented.
The issue of who is in control is the first order of business. Paul when
speaking to the church at Ephesus said:
“Take heed therefore unto
yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made
you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his
own blood.
29. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous
wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples
after them.” – Acts 20:28-30
I know that very possibly that not all who read
this are believers, but the principles apply none the less. There will be
those that won’t follow proper paths of decency, morality, and honor.
These will have a following of people that believe that men spouting
humanism hold the ultimate answer to all of life’s problems.
Religion formed the basis for the foundation of the nation. The founders
knew that the path to freedom and liberty begins with belief in God. Not
just any god either, but God who created heaven and earth and all that is
in them. They knew that the religion of God contains the paths of right
and wrong. Whatever God has said pleases him regarding human behavior and
makes right doing the operative words. Whatever God says that displeases
him must have the concept of wrong applied. And whether right and wrong
are believed, accepted, adhered to or ignored, they stand immutable,
having begun in the Garden of Eden, until God decrees otherwise, which he
isn’t going to do. That is where man tries to become God by decreeing
otherwise to his own folly and destruction.
Our entire body of law is based on the principles of God which guide
behavior. Without a standard there is no reliable way to keep an orderly
society.
Society would quickly become an existence in which each person
would determine what was right to do in his or her own eyes irrespective
of the harm that would be caused to others. Society could not exist as we
know it; in fact society would be destroyed if that were the case. Even
now we are seeing the beginning of such with some segments of society
acting as if the laws of universal moral behavior don’t apply to them.
Those who believe themselves above moral disciplines have embarked on a
course to deny the truth of Jesus Christ by banning him from public life.
Why?
Jesus requires that all men adhere to right doing or suffer the
consequences. Jesus points out wrong and makes it clear where that path
will lead. Jesus was and is the living example (religion) of the
principles by which God wants all to live daily. Religion (not man’s idea
of it) has a definition which is found in James 1:27:
“Pure religion and
undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and
widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
The formula is very simple. Take care of those in need and keep oneself
from the influence of the world’s way and away from the doing of wrong
(sin) by following good. Now we have reached the crux of the matter.
Mankind is in love with doing as he or she pleases and Jesus is standing
in the way. Since he was disposed of on a cross once for all time and
can’t be again, it is imperative to silence those who believe in him and
preach his message to the sinners of the world.
Ungodly men and judges have found a way to deny the public utterance of
God and Jesus. They have declared it in violation of the separation of
church and state. That is a farce for many reasons, not the least of which
is that, it is Congress that is prevented from tampering with religion
because it is the only one empowered to make law. Neither Congress nor
anyone else can prevent the utterance of God in the public place. There is
an irony about the denial of God and Jesus Christ in public places, which
those who deny God have put in place. By denying God they have established
religion of men and they enforce it with more edicts from their ungodly
mouths.
Yet, the irony goes deeper. They blatantly deny God and then allow all the
phony beliefs to take his place in the interest of fairness and DIVERSITY.
They don’t want anyone to be offended so God is banned.
What is strange,
they don’t seem to notice, much less care, that those of us that believe
in God are offended by being banned from speaking out, and that we are
being discriminated against by their rulings, all in the interest of
fairness and diversity.
They don’t like not being in control so they banish God or try to do so.
The ungodly do the denying and then look at their ungodly followers for
approval. They are seeking popularity and the majority is either in
sympathy with them or too scared to speak out. There is an old saying that
the world is going to Hell in a hand basket. In this case, it is the
ungodly ones, in league with the devil that are carrying the basket with
many riding along in silence for the sake of getting along.
The sum total of their behavior in trying to silence God is that they are
afraid of the power of Jesus Christ. He is the master and requires
obedience to his way of right. He has no room for the deliberate doing of
wrong. He is the way to the exclusion of all others. God chose him and him
alone as the path for a good life on earth and eternal salvation. That
the ungodly federal judges, state judges, and local judges know beyond a
doubt. If they weren’t scared of him they wouldn’t try to ban him and God
from public utterance.
The religion they permit promises nothing and therefore requires nothing
in the way of changed behavior. One particular religion allows the heathen
practices of adultery, abortion, fornication, pedophilia, bestiality, and
homosexuality to name a few. The name of that religion is humanism and it
is prominent throughout the land in court rulings and the some of the laws
that are passed by law making bodies at all levels.
Again, fear of Jesus Christ is their driving force. They fear that they
will have to change their ungodly, sinful ways and give up power. But they
are afraid in their arrogance for the wrong reason. They need to heed the
words of Paul, II Thessalonians 1:6-8:
Seeing it is a righteous thing with
God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7. And to you who
are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from
heaven with his mighty angels,
8. In flaming fire taking vengeance on them
that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Hopefully they will see the truth before it is too late. For some the
deadline for change has passed already.
