    LEST WE FORGET

    First, there was Jessica
From the first to be taken
    A hero found by heroes
And a movie in the making.

    She was brought back home
To the country she fought for
    And amazingly, the next day
    We have back, seven more.

There's just six more to go
    And wouldn't that be neat
As we pray for their safe return
    With the task, nearly complete.

But, please let us not forget
That, there may be one more
    Scott Speicher waiting, hoping
To be brought through freedoms' door.

We say, "We won't leave them behind!"
And on this very, happy day
    Let's continue with that quest
To do exactly what we say.

For, there are many, many more
    Whose fates are still unknown
From those wars of the past
    Still waiting, to come home.

    Those POW/MIAs
    And their recovery
    Must always be our Nation's
    Foremost priority.
