A MANDATE

I doubt that God is really all that interested in our “voting record” when it comes to politics. What He is most interested in is how we cast the vote of our heart.

    A MANDATE

The election results of November 02, 2004, can be honestly accepted as a “mandate” of historical proportion. President George W. Bush received the highest number of popular votes than any incumbent president in this nation’s history. A tidal wave of voters, also of record proportion, made their voices known throughout America by also adding to the Republican majority in both houses of congress. Christian and conservative moral values prevailed in our individual states, where eleven more states voted for a ban on same-sex marriage. A host of republican governors were also put into office by the will of the people.

But we must not merely bask in our victory. This is not the time for boasting or patting each other on the back. We must never allow ourselves to become as complacent and lazy as we have been in the past where our civic duty and Judeo/Christian morals are concerned. Although what we have gained in this election is no less than a miracle, it is also no more than a four-year period of borrowed time. Time to be trained in the weapons of spiritual and political warfare. As aptly stated in the Bible:

“ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians:6:12

Our enemies on the extreme political left will regroup, and come at us next time with increased intensity. They will become more angry and depictive than during this past election. They will be more intimidating and violent than ever before! The Michael Moore’s and George Soros types will continue to spend billions of dollars in their attempts to influence the naive into accepting their lies and propaganda. Sleight-of-hand and smoke screens from the mass news media will make their agenda almost seem credible. But don’t be fooled. Do not be afraid. The power of the living God has seen us through in our past history, and His power will see us through what will come.

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” – Deuteronomy:31:6

But don’t get over confident in your own accomplishments. Yes. Our Lord will see us through [if]...

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. – 2nd Chronicles:7:14

It is of my own opinion that The Almighty has given us a reprieve of sorts. Some borrowed time, if you will. As a supposedly “Godly” nation, we have been found to be very deep in backsliding and sin during the past few decades. Our November victory has been granted to us as a period of grace so that we may examine ourselves and also to be examined by our God and His wonderful Son, Jesus. What we do for Him in this brief time frame is up to us. We must surrender our total heart and soul to Him if we are to attain victory in the coming elections. If we are humble and openly honest with our Lord, He will provide us with the wisdom and strength to mount Bible-based defensive and offensive strategies during the next political campaign season. We can use these same strategies to get us through our every day struggles with hard-core leftists at the work place, public schools, or obstinate neighbors. No. I have not forgotten that God’s Word commands us to” love our enemies,” but our present time calls for “tough love.”

I doubt that God is really all that interested in our “voting record” when it comes to politics. What He is most interested in is how we cast the VOTE of our HEART. He sees us first as individual souls, and as a nation secondly. If we are to keep America strong and free, we must first clean up our own individual hearts and minds. That goes for Republican, Democrat, or Independent voters and party members. God sent His son Jesus to save [all] sinners. Party affiliation not withstanding.

I take no joy in demonizing the Democrat party.

But, just as the religion of Islam has been completely hijacked by radical extremists, the Democrat party has also fallen victim in a similar manner.

There is an underlying globalist anti-God agenda within the structure of the modern Democrat party. But its leaders are able to disguise this agenda by carefully wording their positions on the issues. The word “choice,” for instance, has been used for many years now by the left to soften the meaning of the practice of killing unborn children by abortion. The term, “Family Planning,” was also used by the left to obscure the fact that their methods of “birth control” included abortion. The Democrats refer to us Christians and Jews as being extreme right-wing only because of our fundamental belief in the Bible and Torah, and because we hold fast to the precepts of the Constitution of the United States, which in fact, was written by men inspired by God’s law.

I had respect for the Democrat party of the Harry Truman and J.F.K. era. But that was a far cry from the corrupted extremist party we encounter today. Unless there can be a reform and/or a revival from within the ranks of the Democrats, we will have to continue to fight this moral, spiritual battle.

For all Americans, and all mankind, for that matter, our hope is in our God and in our hearts. But the choice is ours to make as to whether we accept our Lord at His Word.
