A news item from April 5, 2002, gave me the impression that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given a fast-track blessing to the new medical ID bio-chip.
The story, "Implantable Spy Chip Gets Green Light from U.S.," was posted by Yahoo News, and brought to light some alarming possibilities of the new chips developed and produced by Florida-based, Applied Digital Solutions (ADS).
The company announced that the FDA has given it the green light to begin marketing the $200 chips which are "not considered to be a medical device" and therefore are not subject to FDA regulation. FDA officials said that as long as the biochips are used for identification purposes only, they will not have to meet strict FDA guidelines. The ruling saves the product from having to undergo the agency's rigorous and lengthy safety testing procedures, as noted in the news story.
ADS has named the chip "VeriChip," and claims it has no medical functions so that the company is free to market and "implant" the chips into individuals. Although the VeriChip has the capacity to store a patient's complete medical records, ADS says the chip will presently be used only for "identification" purposes.
The VeriChip system allows a person's ID code to be transmitted over a telephone or by computers via the Internet to a central storage site where "authorized" personnel can cross-reference the data to obtain detailed medical information.
Over the Internet! Now, just how safe and secure will that be?
The company gives the usual propaganda about how valuable the chip will be in tracking lost children, Alzheimer's patients and convicted criminals, but would it or will it stop there?
"The company also said the chip could be combined with a global positioning system (GPS) and used for security purposes by potential kidnap victims." Yes, I'm sure it could do just that. However, it could then be used to track ALL OF US!
I can see where this thing is going to be given such a sales pitch by the government(s) and the very cooperative news media so that everyone will want one... at first. But then when enough true Bible-believers come forward to protest this satanic plan for what it really is, the VeriChip, or whatever name the governing powers will call it, will be made mandatory! If you don't have the chip, you won't eat!
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Yes, the first contingents of the population to receive the implant ID will be those who do not have the ability or option to refuse it. The infirm, elderly, children, and criminals. In other words, all those who are institutionalized.
My next guess would be you frequent flyer folks. Just imagine how convenient it will be not having to show your drivers license or picture ID every time you want to board an airplane. For overseas travelers, your passport can also be included within the data on your chip. The sudden implementation of "anti-terrorist" legislation has all but created a national ID card system already. Even if it could be proven that for the sake of "security" that a national ID system should be set in place, the problem is that it would automatically and instantly become a global (New World Order) ID system!
This thing is global. If you don't believe me, just read this quote from the news story:
"The company, which first announced the chip in December 2001, said it will launch the product in the next three weeks, first in Florida and then nationwide and internationally. "
One size (one system) fits all.
A basic technical description was also given in the news article, as follows:
"The biochip is a miniature, implantable radio frequency identification device (RFID) roughly the size of a grain of rice. It is composed of "FDA-accepted materials," according to the company, and each chip contains a unique verification number.
That number is "captured" by passing a scanner over the chip, causing a small amount of radio frequency energy to pass through the skin and activate the dormant chip. The chip then transmits the verification number on a radio frequency of 125 KHz."
Fortunately, there are a few privacy and political advocates who warn of the dangers of the technology falling into the WRONG HANDS... like big brother government who could use the chip to track "political dissidents" such as right-wing conservatives and fundamentalist Christians.
