Once the door has been opened to same-sex marriage, what’s next?

RE-DEFINING MARRIAGE

As is typical to their mode of operation, the Gays and liberals in California, and the rest of the nation, have always cried that if the “PEOPLE” were allowed to have their say, the outcome would be more favorable to their concept of the political issues. But low and behold, when the “people” are allowed to have their say in a legitimate election, and the results are NOT in [their] favor, the liberals shriek foul. They will either deny the new legislation exists, or they will flat-out disobey the law.

This is the case in San Francisco, as Mayor Gavin Newsom has anointed himself to be above the law in his declaration to issue marriage licenses to SAME-SEX COUPLES in VIOLATION of California’s Proposition 22.

On March 7, 2000, the people of California voted on Proposition 22, a proposal to enact a state "Defense of Marriage Act" as an initiative statute. The text of Prop 22 reads:

“Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”

Proposition 22 was ratified by an overwhelming majority of California voters, winning by a 23-point margin. Fifty two out of fifty eight counties in California said yes to Proposition 22.

So, now the gays and liberals are trying to tell us that all they want to do is to “Re-define” what marriage [is] or what it might be. What they are attempting to do, in fact, is to UN-DEFINE marriage. Their apparent goal is to make “marriage” a moot point. If the re-definition of marriage becomes a mere interpretation of civil law, then the very sanctity of marriage will have fallen by the wayside. Traditional marriage will have become an issue of little importance. Church weddings and wedding vows will become obsolete or have no moral obligation.

Once the door has been opened to same-sex marriage, what’s next? Do we then legalize incest, or children given in marriage? How about sex partnerships with animals? Maybe you will soon be able to buy or rent a love slave.

We have been warned that these times were coming, but we were too content in enjoying our modern-day luxuries to really take notice or bother to get involved. How many churches have stumbled over this issue? Far too many, I fear. Too many pastors have been caught up in the new social-based religion, and have failed in their responsibility to preach the true Gospel of REPENTANCE and SALVATION. It has become too easy to just appease the congregation, and cater to the evil of DIVERSITY that has cleverly been implanted within our government, churches, and public schools. Gay marriage, same-sex unions... or by whatever name you attribute to it, can only be spelled one way. S-I-N! Of our present times, the Holy Bible says:

1. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3. Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
(I Timothy: Chapter 4, Verses: 1-3)

The fact that this political drama is now being enacted throughout this nation is another indication of how far we have fallen back in our defense of what is morally correct.

If you have not yet opened your spiritual eyes to our current events, do you think that now might be the time for YOU to take a stand on these issues? I pray that you will.
