One Federal Judge Agrees With Our Founding Fathers...

"Although the Constitution says the government cannot "establish" or promote religion, the framers did not intend for God to be stripped from public life..."

~~ Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

At least one federal judge understands that the wisdom of our founding fathers is not an obsolete mind set, and the truths they expounded upon when framing the Constitution of The United States are still applicable in our modern times.

In a statement to the press, dated January 13, 2003, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said: “Courts have gone too far to keep religion out of public schools and other forums.”

As Justice Scalia addressed the crowd at the Religious Freedom Day rally in Virginia, he contended that the Constitution has been misinterpreted both by the Supreme Court and lower courts. As an example, he noted the recent federal appeals court ruling in California barring students from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance with the phrase "one nation under God."

“Although the Constitution says the government cannot "establish" or promote religion, the framers did not intend for God to be stripped from public life,” said Scalia.

The stripping away of God’s involvement in our government, schools, and even our work places, has not happened overnight. But if an American had been in a coma for the last twenty years, and was suddenly awakened, it would appear that this nation’s falling away from God did happen overnight.

It has come to the point where a father of a student was denied placing a four-inch-square plaque in memorial at the scene of the infamous Columbine school shooting because it made mention of Jesus.

Had the “Religious Freedom Day” not had the backing of the Knights of Columbus and mostly the entire religious community in the Fredericksburg area, I’m sure that some local bureaucrat, not wanting to infringe on some obscure minority, would have done the politically correct thing, and cancelled the rally. But this time, faith and sanity prevailed.

The rally and the parade, which followed, came off without a hitch. Within the entire crowd, only one anti-religious protestor could be found! If there were other protestors, they would have been drowned out by the cheers awarded to Scalia’s speech and the hundreds who joined in with the singing of “God Bless America” at the end of the parade.

Although the above news event was of a positive nature to the true believers of this nation, it is sad that more reports that reflect the truth that the “moral majority” in America still [IS] the majority do not make the headlines. A retired FBI agent who was present at the rally was quoted by the Fox News Network when referring to Justice Scalia as:
“the voice of reason on the Supreme Court... His remarks were right on the money. The pendulum has swung too far and people have said `enough is enough.' We'll see it swing back."

Yes! Let us pray that Justice Scalia is not alone on the judicial bench, and that the “pendulum” is truly swinging back. However, the only way to ensure our return to the Constitutional government guaranteed by our founding fathers, is for each and every one us to stand up and be heard!

We have been too timid or too lazy in the past to write our Congressmen, call those talk shows (the ones the liberals hate) or write letters to the editor of our local newspapers.

It is a sin that we have become so afraid of a verbal conflict when we stand here today as free men and women... our souls set free by the Blood of Jesus Christ, and our freedom to worship him won by the blood of our fallen patriot fathers!

How much longer will we dishonor them by not having the courage to carry on the fight today?

I would suggest you follow the news for a few weeks, and listen to your own conscience. You also may come to the same conclusion as Justice Scalia did.
