What is a Massage Therapist?

A massage therapist is a medically licensed therapist trained to work with the muscles of the body, to improve the efficiency and help eliminate disorders.

How does massage work?

Massage:

  • Reduces levels of tension
  • Increases flexibility of joints
  • Nourishes the tissues and speeds elimination of toxins
  • Increases circulation of blood and lymph glands
  • Helps the body heal itself.

Is Massage Accepted by the medical field?

Massage therapy is governed by the medical board and is considered by some insurance companies and doctors to be a means of keeping health care costs down.

Why is the massage field growing so fast?

  1. Massage is beneficial in helping people stay healthy and to recover faster from injury and illness.
  2. Athletic people use massage to perform better and decrease their chances of injury.
  3. People who have been injured at work, or in auto accidents get relief from pain and heal faster through massage.
