The Programs, either with Capt. D, Durwin with his sidekick Sam, or Dur by himself, present students with both a comical and dramatic presentation of the dangers of the 3 D's.  Durwin freely discusses his real-life experience which resulted in the loss of his right arm.  Readily stating that he would rather still have it, he turns his misfortune around.  Through the Capt. D character, he teaches students that the hurdles in life can often be overcome.

Students can help prepare for the arrival of Capt. D by coloring some of the graphics on the "Just for Fun" page, and using them as a background for the Capt. D show.
This enables teachers to give students some computer instruction and use (bringing up this site and printing out the pictures), lets the children have a fun activity while anticipating his arrival, and allows them to take part in creating the scenery.  The colored pictures can be taped or pinned to background panels, walls, curtains, etc., creating a nice environment for the Capt. D show.
