FireNetOnline BBS will be down for several days for general maintenance and upgrades. We will resume normal operations the morning of the 29th of September. Please return at that time to resume access or to register for membership.
Dear Fire Professional,
Today more than ever it's important to have a ready source of information at your fingertips. No where is this as true as it is in the fire protection industry, which includes fire fighters, code enforcement officials, fire alarm technicians, safety officers, and others. There's a new service on the Internet that caters to all of the above and its name is FireNetOnline.com (FNO).
FNO consists of 26 individual forums categorized into three basic groups: General Information, Fire Code, and Technology.
In the General Information section you will find the Welcome & Public Access forum, Member Announcement Section, ChitChat, Code Enforcement, Firefighters & Disaster Relief, Administrators, Hazmat, Investigations, Fire Safety, American With Disabilities (ADA), Business Administration, and False Alarms.
Within the Fire Code area you will find NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code; NFPA 70, National Electric Code; NFPA 10, on fire extinguishers; NFPA 13, on sprinkler systems; NFPA 101, Life Safety Code; IFC by ICC, International Fire Code; IRC by ICC, International Residential Code, and NICET.
In the Technology section you'll find the Fire Alarm Systems forum; Special Hazard forum; Extinguishing Fires section; Integration; Electrical Safety; and a new addition to the BBS, the Inspector's Technology Forum.
The Inspector's Technology Forum is intended to aid code enforcement officials and fire inspectors in the task of identifying quality, code-compliant work vs. shoddy, non-compliant fire alarm systems. What this new section boils down to is a helping hand at understanding the technology behind fire alarm detection and special hazards systems.
To become a FNO member, go to www.tpromo.com/fire-bbs/index.php and look for the Registration link atop the right hand corner of the page. The only three things we need in order to accept your membership request is a user name, passcode, and a valid e-mail address. You need an e-mail address so we can send you a confirmation e-mail. When you receive it, you must open it and click on the confirmation link. Your membership is not valid until you do this.
If you should have any question, feel free to write: firenetonline@tpromo.com.
Kind Regards,
Al Colombo, Director
