Summary 1. Move in! Make the subject fill most of the scene rather than have a bunch of useless stuff surrounding it. 2. Have the main part of the subject, usually the face, near one end of the frame, NOT dead-center. 3. Shoot from a good position. 4. Tilt the camera sideways for a vertical shot, if the subject warrants it. 5. Steady the camera, especially for outdoor shots in low light or when zoomed out. 6. Go with the flow and let the subject rule. 7. Try a pen to eliminate Red and Gray eyes in existing photos.
8. Shoot in shaded light, either by light cloud cover, or in shaded areas. 9. Try available light, for portraits or interiors.
